When you navigate to the "Tasks" category and click on the "Plan" section in your TaskSpur web app, you'll notice two distinct lanes: "Later" and "Unscheduled."

The main difference between a task in the "Later" lane and a task in the "Unscheduled" lane lies in the presence or absence of a start date.

Tasks in the "Later" Lane

Task cards in the "Later" lane were created with a specific start date assigned. This means that TaskSpur's intelligent assistant, Ari, can effectively schedule these tasks for the date and time you intended to work on them.

Tasks in the "Later" lane will automatically move to your "To-Do" list when their start dates arrive, ensuring that you don't miss any important tasks or deadlines.

Tasks in the "Unscheduled" Lane

On the other hand, tasks in the "Unscheduled" lane are those that you've added to your TaskSpur account but haven't assigned a specific start date or schedule yet.

Tasks in the "Unscheduled" lane will remain in the "Plan" section until you update them with a start date. This allows you to keep track of tasks or ideas you want to work on in the future without committing to a specific schedule just yet.

Once you update an "Unscheduled" task with a start date, it will automatically move to the "Later" lane or directly to your "To-Do" list if the assigned start date is for the current day.

Why Set Unscheduled Tasks

Many users find the "Unscheduled" lane helpful for capturing tasks or ideas they want to tackle at some point, but they're not quite sure when they'll have the time for it. It serves as a convenient holding area until you're ready to schedule the task and move it to your active workflow.

By separating your tasks into the "Later" and "Unscheduled" lanes, TaskSpur empowers you to manage your tasks effectively, ensuring that your "To-Do" list remains focused on your immediate priorities while keeping your future plans and ideas organized and accessible.
